An accomplished Florida physician, Dr. Alan H. Porter holds a bachelor of science in chemistry, a master of science in radiation physics, and a doctor of medicine from the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville. After securing his medical degree in 1971, he remained at UF to complete a medical residency and serve as a clinical instructor there. Dr. Alan H. Porter ultimately left the university as a chief resident. He later undertook additional training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Since 1975, Dr. Porter has directed medical activities at Porter Radiation Oncology in Sarasota, Florida. An affiliate practice of the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Porter Radiation Oncology holds accreditation through the American College of Radiology as well as membership in both the Association of Community Cancer Centers and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. In addition to serving the needs of patients, Dr. Porter has led his practice in participation in national clinical trials.
